Whats going on? I have a 98 toyota camry and it has a factory double din deck installed right now and I would like to remove it and install a new after market unit...My question is does anyone have any instructions on how to remove the factory deck? is there an amp or does the factory unit have a built in amp? is there a security feature that I should be aware of? all the help possible would be a great help thanks again...

If you have plates on the side those can be popped out with screw driver and you can see the mounting screws that hold the unit in. Remove the screws and pull out and unplug.

It's really pretty easy. First, remove the ashtray and cigarette lighter. Then pry out the panel around the whole assembly starting from the bottom outside areas and working upward. Then unplug the modular connectors for the lighter and the lights. This will expose 4 screws that hold the raido assembly in to the dash. Remove them and slide the radio forward. Now remove the antenna connector and the modular connectors from the back of the radio and you are done.

This site might help you as it has some good pictures, but will cost you $4:
