3rd Generation Two 92 Camry dashboard light?

Hi! Today when I started my 92 Camry, I noticed two lights came up on my dashboard, one I know it's the battery light, the other one is orange and it looks like a car with rear lights on.

ok question #1: I checked any lights on the back of my car which all work properly, why does this dash light comes on?

I know the battery light means the battery is not getting an at least 12.5v charging voltage, so it could be the alternator that's bad.
so question #2: How much is the going rate to replace a alternator in an 92 Camry parts + labor in maryland? approximately.

question #3: what are the other causes for the batter light to come up?

Thank you so much for your help guys.

Toyota camry unknown dash light

I also have that mysterious dashboard light that looks like a car with its rear lights glaring. I can't figure out what it means as I don't have the manual. Did you ever find an answer?

This happened to me not 2 months ago. Both the rear light indicator and the battery indicator came on. Mine turned out to be a bad alternator. My rear lights also happened to work properly as well.

When you started it, did it start alright? As in, did it start normally?
Also, are any of your interior lights dimming when you apply the brake?

If so, I would say first off, to be exactly sure, go get your battery and alternator tested at either Autozone or Advanced Auto Parts for free (and possibly the starter if it had trouble starting). Although I wouldn't put 100% stock in what they tell you, they usually are pretty accurate. I only say this because mine turned out to be the alternator that was bad and the test they did for me came out with a bad starter first, which was actually fine.

If it turns out to be the alternator, it isn't all that hard to buy and install yourself. I paid around $100 for a remanned alternator at Napa (not counting the core, which you'll get back if you bring in the old one obviously). The install took about 40 minutes, however it would've taken only around 20 minutes if only because mine was a bitch to line up the mount holes (it was a really tight fit).

But I would say start with getting those tested and see what it comes out with. I hope I helped. Keep us updated.

EDIT: whoa, just realized this is from November...whoops

I hope your battery has a fair amount of reserve capacity!

Average labor rate is 100-120 dollars an hour, but it shouldn't take more than 2 (flat rate) to Remove and Replace it.
