Door plastic/weathershield replacement

I took off the door panel to change the power window motor and the previous owner had removed the protective plastic/weathershield. Can I just use any plastic sheeting as a replacement and duct tape it on?

Yes, it is just to keep the moisture off the inner side of the door panel so any plastic will work for a while . the thicker the better.

It was very easy. I have no mechanical ability and it only took about 30 minutes to replace the motor/regulator once I took the door apart. I was going to take step-by-step pics and post a DIY but my wife had our camera.

The only tools you'll need are a 10mm socket and a small standard screwdriver. I only used the screwdriver to help pry apart the wiring harness.

You'll remove four screws/nuts from the black horizontal brace, two nuts that attach the regulator to the door, two screws that attach the window to the regulator and three nuts that attach the motor to the brace. It's really just that simple. Now that I know what I'm doing, it would probably only take me 10 minutes or so to change it.
