3rd Generation lights problem!!!

i got a big problem. something happened to my dash and tail lights. both are out, but the brake lights work. headlights work fine, so i think it might be something with the wires. please help before i get pulled over. thanks.

Check 15A TAIL Fuse.

If TAIL Fuse is good ... then check Taillight Relay ... maybe replace with one from salvage yard to check out.

Location is J/B no. 1 ... under driver side dash next to kick panel on left.
Think it is behind coin box tray. ...

Just curious ... did anything unusual occur to knock out this fuse or relay?
Were you working on anything?

Sounds like you blew a fuse. Check the fuses. If they blow again you've got a short somewhere.

There should be two solid green wires coming out of J/B no. 1 ... Can you get a voltmeter, turn your light switch to on, and check to see if these green wires have 12V?
See p. 144 of the Gen 3 Wiring Diagram .... online repair manual for reference.
If you don't find 12V on the green wires ... check the green wire with red stripe, which controls the taillight relay activation coil, and should also have 12V.

Wiring Diagram shows that dash lights are included in one of the two solid green wires coming out of the J/B no. 1.
