TSB AX001-01 Trunk release

Hi all,

I come accross this TSB about retrofiting an interior trunk release (escape).
The parts listed are:

[FONT='Arial','sans-serif']4 x – 90464–00551 Clamp[/font]
[FONT='Arial','sans-serif']1 x – MDC 00107–00316–TR Installation Instructions[/font]

The dealer found the first one, but the rest are discontinued.

Does anyone has the instructions for installing this (last part above)?
Does anyone has an idea how the Clamp (sencond part above) looks like?
A long shot: does anyone knows where I can found the parts?

I just looked it up, and if you buy the kit for it, it comes with instructions. There are no instructions from the toyota tech website

I just saw that you said the other parts are discontinued, i think you best bet may be searching junk yards for one that has been done.
All these use the same parts.
Avalons 95-99
camrys 92-2000

MR2 90-95

The MR2 has a different trunk release
You need 4 clamps and the trunk release

More digging at the dealer and the clamps look like are not specific for the trunck release.

I remember that a clamp similar to that is used for securing the cranck position sensor harness to the timming belt cover on top of the 4cyl engine. This one is also discontinued. I replaced it with one piece of hose and 2 zip ties, one zip tie clamping the hose to the cover screw and the other holding the harness to the first tie. It works perfectelly under the hood and looks factory.

The one for the trunk release may actually be the same as the one for the harness.

Thanks for the info. It takes the worrying away by knowing that the handle comes with the instructions. If not I'll find a way of installing it. It can't be too hard. I was just hopping that the instructions come with a template for cutting the trunck lid linner, and spare me of trial and error fitting.

Handle should be here in 6 days.
