4th Generation 17"X8.5" +35mm fitment on Gen 4????

Will these fit on my 99 Camry LE V6- TRD coil overs? Would spacers in the back help this?

I'd put any reasonable tire that will fit-225/45-17, 215/?-17?

thanks!

Id say prob not. i had 17x8 on a +45mm, and it was like 1mm off hte strut, i dunno how much room u can afford on coilovers. Also youd prob need to roll the fenders as well.

check the rim and tire fitmentguide in the general camry forum

YES they will fit, and a 225/45 is a good size tire!

I have a set of enkei 17x8.5 that I rock as stocks as well, for my gen 3.

Oh and TRD never made Coilovers for your camry or any camry at that.

Wrong my friend. I also had a gen4 camry at one point in my life sitting on 18x8.5, just gotta learn offsets, how to use spacers, cut or roll the fenders.... you know the basics. Another similar camry is the gen1-1.5 solara which I also rocked 18x8.5s and 19x8.5s.

Even though the diameters are different the widths are the same, just learn your offsets.

What width would you guess Billy used here?

the real question is whether he can fit them with out rolling or cutting the fender or without spacers, with that offset. i would guess they wouldnt fit but i really dont know.

I guess you could see it that way, but that's when you have shitty fitments. I like my wheels aggressive, ball hard or don't ball at all son.
But for the size in question, no spacers needed, but definite fender roll needed (especially if lowered).

From what I've seen in general with cars and which one looks hot or not I'll take the extra time roll the fenders at least with some good offsets...

Can't remember who said it but "if it doesn't need rolling or cutting the fenders then ain't good" or something like that lol...

spacers = okay

fenders rolled = ftw

I'm pretty sure I'll have to roll my fenders once milt gets those coilovers off an I get them on my car =D

Thanks for the input guys. I have 18X8's with a 35mm offset on it now and they work fine but I can't

get my little finger between the rear shock and the wheel/tire.

I'll compare the tire section widths of the present setup with a new tire/wheel setup and see.

I assume if the width his the same and so is the offset then it should fit????

Spacers don't bother me but rolling might be too big a hassle.

BTW Bilstein made the TRD shock/spring setup on this car. They told me they'd rebuild them for about $100 ea when they need it. MSRP was ~$1400 on the set.

thanks again and is this strategy sensible????? experts to call????

TRD made springs and struts from what I remember not coilovers.

Anyways how would getting coilovers require you to roll your fenders eye8? I thought you was already lowered unless your going more lower when you get the coilovers?

Since it's winter time theres no point in buying rims unless there is a killer deal and save it for the spring time but I'm so far looking into 18x8.5" 5 spoke rim in the mean time. I know what wouldn't need rolling fenders but that's gay so since I never fucked around with wheels like that so I don't know what offset looks best in the camry I'm just going to follow what Milt did with his car- 45mm front 30mm back or something close to it, since I never rolled before I hope the baseball bat trick would be enough.

Maybe you should just try it or at least what people told me about the baseball bat trick to roll fenders 1kdude!!!

Actually I have work done at a road race shop that could roll fenders if necessary. I am getting 5 spoke 17X8.5 Rota wheels that fit on evo's I'm told. I'll let you guys know how it comes out, well I think.

The tire section width is actually 0.1" narrower with the 8.5" wheel with 225/45-17 tire than a 225/40-18 on an 8" rim, with the same offset (35mm) it should fit with no rolling or spacers (?), we'll see in a week or so. 18" tires are more expensive than 17's.

Anybody interested in a set of white OZ wheels, 18X8, 35mm offset? straight bolt on to a gen 4 camry?
