Hey guys im just wondering what kind of exhaust systems you have and where you got them? Cuz im looking almost everywhere and I cant find anything. And how would i go about installing it?
Has to be custom. Pick a muffler and resonator, then have a muffler shop weld on your new exhaust. I personally have a Dynomax Thrush Turbo muffler with Magnaflow dual tip, and I had the resonator just cut out and a pipe welded in.
Dynomax Thrush Tubo - $20
Muffler install and tip - $100
Resonator removal - $30
--------------------------------
Total - $150

what do u drive? the gen4 has a couple exhaust systems avalible but the gen3 has only a couple and are VERY expensive. in either case u must decide how far u wanna go with the car as far as power. if u may go forced induction then wider piping may be an order, if not then just get a muffler, teh factory exhaust is not real restrictive for the N/A engine, so no further mods are necissary.
also if u have a V6 then cosomizing the Y-pipe is a must. it will yeild the most power for the money.
i had magnaflow muffler on my 94 V6 and a flowmaster on my 95 V6 when i had it. wouldnt recomend the flowmaster, though it was nice and quiet. the magnaflow was nice but loud at cruising and under load around 2K to 3k rpms.
hey now i switched from a i4 to a v6.....only cost me 400usd alot cheaper then a turbo s/c or no2...but yeah power and i4 don't mix.....swap in a 5spd you'll enjoy it more

How did you do that? I'd switch to a v6 for 400 in a heartbeat.
lets see, thrush turbo (i did it first! lol) 20 bucks
25 dollar tip cause i wanted a little nicer looking one
35 to mount, then took it back to have them tuck the exhaust better (no more hanging down exhaust like it had before)
in the end, without going cat back, and then going cat forward, and then putting in a new cat, you wont do much. me personally i HATE coffee can fart machines on all cars, especially when the only reason most put it on is because every other 'tuner' car has one.
i have to agree with 2wickedtoyz, if u really want power man, get the V6. to get any power at all ull need to do a FULL exhhaust headers, and all and ull gain a little. but for the money u spend on the exhaust ull tripple thoes power gains with a V6.
alright thanks for the help, but the only engine site i can find that looks somewhat reputable is located in quebec..so where would i go to get an engine? also what should i watch for when buying a used engine?
