3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I recently bought Bigbird SE Coupe and tho it looked damn good as it was, I just had to make a few changes. Of course this is just the beginning! I have lots of ideas, I just need the bucks to make them happen!
I had the pleasure of meeting ASG14 this week, and he being the Good Dude he is, he really helped me out. (I've been incapacitated) Adam repaired the leaking Valve Cover Gaskets, replaced the front strut mounts replaced the busted Dog Bone mount, seafoamed it, cleaned the engine, replaced the Dash Bezel, repaired the "D" light on the dash, replaced the broken interior door handle, changed the console lid. Me, I was able to put on the new grille, and clear corners.
Adam has the car running like new! I still need to replace the exterior door handles, finish the radio install, and get the rear seats mounted up!
I have an Idea tho, and I need ur opinions...I was thinking of removing the rear spoiler and doing without, and color matching the front lip...whata ya think? Thanks for ur opinions!

i would redo the wires running thru the drivers side door while i was doing the radio install...leave the lip black unless you want it more noticeable, i think it looks could kinda stealthy like that...
spoiler, cant give me opinion, not a good pic of it. if i remember right you bought this for your kiddo? ask the kiddo, get them involved in the build up
The kiddo is 13, I'm afraid he's alittle ricer right now..heck, I think he wants a WING, and a "pimp my ride" paint job...I want him involved but, Big Daddy has to set some limits here! Right now its my toy to play with, as he has no money
The car needs quite a few little things, the wires to the fogs being one of them~ Here's a pic of the Saturn wing!

well you know, you gonna do all that work getting it just so, and then he will put the picnic table wing and dead catfish snorkle and on and on anyways...lol
seen a car yeaterday...a 626, actually seen 2 lately, one was soso, had a big aluminium wing but otherwise looked clean. the other had EVERY need for speed visual option slapped on. had a HUGE wing, huge weird ass hood scoop, body kit from hell (and not lowered) some basic rims, had a roof scoop mounted backwards with leds in it for a third brake lights, and had the huge horse power adder of all ride, the company logo stickers... my wife was dying, and all i could say between gasping for air is that was NOT how my car would look...lol
i say as far as the spoiler, keep the one thats on there or shave it off completly. i would have gone no spoiler but didnt feel like filling the holes in the trunk. i presonally have always hated the gen3 spoiler on the coupe, to boring.
the lip, i think it looks better in black since the rocker pannels are black and it even out the look from the side but color match would look better from the front. i realized how funny it is that u now have both cars that have the taurus lip mod.
glad adam go so much done, im glad to hear its runnin better
the headlights are partially black housings right? I think the black is throwing me off with everything else being clear, but I know theyre projectors so i wouldnt want to ditch them, knowing how crappy the gen 3 headlights are stock As for the spoiler, I think I would only go through the trouble of shaving it if you had a lip spoiler to put on it. Otherwise I think the saturn one is okay, save the money from paint for something else. I also like the front lip black, looks good with the side skirts!

I was thinking of replacing the entire trunk lid, since u included the extra emblems! Yea, Adam got it running perfectly! Ok I agree the lip looks good black and I have scraped it a few times, all ready no more than I've driven it, so it may be a waste to paint it!
