Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
On 98 Camry 4 cyl, I have sanded the paint on frame and cant get a ground. Using a test light attached to positive, I cant find a ground. Where can I attach a ground wire ?
If you can locate a convenient trim screw, the screw threads will usually allow an efficient ground path. ....Maybe avoid the doors .... the main chassis should always be an adequate ground though.
What are you working on?

Do you have any pictures where you are grounding too?

The Camry is a car that I can rip out someone's pride, stab it, beat it, and completely bash their egos, and it's so ridiculous that the person comes back with a hysterical laugh... ROFL They got trainlengthed by a Camry that in their mind, was a 18 sec car.
I attach the alligator clip on my testlight to the positive cable on the battery and then touch the negative battery post - and my test light lights fine.
I then take the test light to the sanded part of the frame and I dont get any light. I tried everything from the engine, to bolts, to the frame, to everywhere on the car and couldnt find ground - except negative terminal on battery. .
I am installing a HID kit where I dont have much wire length so I really need to find a ground on chassis.
i dont know why your light isnt working. the battery along with the motor are grounded to the chassis. do you have access to digital volt meter to test more accurately? i guess you really dont have to test, the chasis is a ground and if you need to install a ground wire, its best to keep the wire as short as possible.
I dont own a digital multi-meter but I went out an bought a heavy duty test light. The light test for ground as well as a multi-meter would. Do I need to have current/electricity actually pass through chassis to test it for ground? I thought a wire from positive battery post to frame would always give a ground
what i did.. your seats should b able to fold down right?!?! ok what i did when i hooked up my subs and needed a ground is that bar the the seats lock to that sticks out romove the lil pannal below it to revel the bolt to the bar that locks the seat back in place.. romve the bolt then use an o-ring around it, put the ground wire in and close the o-ring, then bolt it back in and put the lil panel back up and there u go!! if that was to confusing just tell me and ill try more to help but just let me know! i have a 95 camry and this worked perfectly for me!
