4th Generation Gas Pedal Sticking

Hi Guys,
When I press gas it seems to stick. I had my throttle body serviced so it's not the plate....Can the pedal wire stick in the casing? Will WD 40 help. Where do I spray it?
I have a 99 Camry V6.
Thanks

I too have a similar problem, and would like to seek a possible solution

mine only occurs sometimes. like when i'm at a red light
and i'll apply pressure to the pedal, it won't move until I overcome it with more pressure.

try unhooking the throttle cable from the throttle body to narrow down where the sticking is coming from. if its not the throttle body in hav's case, shoot some graphite spray where the cable goes into the sheathing at both ends (by the throttle body and by the gas pedal). also spray the pivot points on the accelerator pedal as well. graphite spray will work well because it doesnt get sticky so it wont trap dirt.

There is a throttle plate return spring on the front side, put a rag below it and spray some degreaser / parts cleaner on that if it is really dirty. If it is still warm, use soap type cleaner and rinse with water.

Remember to use dry lubricants, like graphite spray or dry teflon spray, silicone sprays and spray lubes made with teflon will collect alot of dirt into the cable casing. If I recall, there is a rubber boot (bellows) at the cable casing end before a bare cable sticks out. Is it still there in good condition?

I have to agree with eyeball96. I would thoroughly clean the throttle body again yourself. Pay particular attention to the backside of the throttle plate inside the throttle body, and where the throttle plate seats inside the throttle body when you are off the gas. That's where it usually sticks. Do a search on this forum for "throttle body cleaning". There are some good articles on it and a great do-it-yourself tutorial with pictures.

Toyota camry solara 2000 gas pedal sticking

I'd having this problem for some weeks. The gas pedal sticks when picking up after stopping at a red light. Also sometimes even while driving in highway i could feel the gas pedal sticking. Untill yesterday i did oil change and tire rotation at Sears. but I also did this "Fuel System Cleaning" $69.99 I thought it would prevent any problems for winter. And guess what? my gas pedal sticking problem was completely gone. So then i knew that it has to do something with the fuel system cleaning. I'm not a pro in cars so i dunno what they did in fuel sys tem cleaning but some procedures in FSCleaning did the magic. It has been really irritating me but now I'm Happy.

I had that problem before, and took it to the dealership. I got an fuel induction service. Now it turned out pretty good.
