Question 2001 Toyota Solara--EGR Valve

I had the EGR valve replaced two months ago. The engine light is still on. I was told a hose connected to the valve needed to be cleaned. That was supposedly done but the mechanic said he saw nothing coming from the hose. I've had the engine light turned off twice only resulting in it coming back on. Does anyone have a solution?

Post on the correct section and get the car scanned to find out what the problem is...

Are you guys just guessing? If not, what's the CEL Code?

The solution would be to have a technician who is competent in diagnosing an EFI problem. Depending on what the code is and what the observed problems are, the solution could be anything from cleaning the EGR valve itself to replacing one or more sensors. I know a real smart tech at a dealer in Fairfax I can refer you to if you like, pm me if you want his info.

Any codes? If the CEL is on, then the PCM had located a fault, check wiring, hoses, and other sensors.

it most likely the p0401 code that i have...ASG14 cleaned out my EGR but its still kinda stuck...im going to see the the hoses are clogged which in ur case could be it since you bought a new EGR
