A lot of people don't like to do that, however I've driven autos shifting manually much of the time for 25 years, haven't replaced a gearbox yet. Poor servicing is much more likely to cause damage than manual shifting. Indeed, there are plenty of times when manual selection is advisable, like steep decent/ ascent, heavy traffic limiting you to 1st or 2nd, OD off for highway corners, etc. I do so always in my Camry, just don't use it to shift at redline unless you shift 500-800rpm before red, to allow for the delay. I always back off the gas a fraction as the manual shift is being made when shifting up. Hope this helps.

Not the best thing to do, but does not hurt unless you do it every time you accelerate.

thanks for the info guys but i wont be driving it manaully like in the vid...well maybe with the girl in the car but i dont wanna hurt my cam doin that, when i first got the car when i went to break the reverse light came on and it rumbled really bad when i broke, i would have to drop it into neutral to brake smoothly, it doesnt do it now, but when i switch into reveser it shifts roughly, like i got hit so im afraid maybe theres a little tranny problem in there idk just always on my mind when i drive, i think the trannys gonna go, idk im just afraid

dang gen 4, we dont have PRW button... just od off/on.

i doubt it will hurt it, might tend to stretch a cam belt if you power brake really hard alot, but i have had cars that were manual shift auto, only diference was valve body mods, and yuou had to shift manually.
