3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I have a 1994 Camry and recently the lever of the passenger side inside door handle pretty much just snapped off. It broke right around the point where it narrows into the long part of the lever.
Is this at all a common problem? The situation seems to make no sense.. apparently someone reached for it and it pretty much just fell off, but the person who used it last had no problem exiting. Just looking at it, it seems like to break it at that point would require someone to intentionally yank on it with the purpose of breaking it, but this has definitely not happened.
So is it just common wear and tear? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Yes this is common for our cars.
Just search online and you can get another handle pretty cheap, and the install is pretty easy too. I've already replaced the front driver and passenger inner door handles on my car.

I just replaced all 4 on my '95 LE. One was completely broken off and 2 were cracked It was cheaper buying a set of 4 than buying individual ones. I got mine from eBay also.
Any DIY info on replacing them? My drivers door has just done the same.
I took pictures when I did mine, but I haven't had time to upload them and do a DIY yet. If somebody else doesn't beat me to it, I'll try to get something together after Thanksgiving.
