You will need an OEM gen4 Camry or Gen1 Solara shifter assembly (same part number) and TRD short shifter (the stick).

To remove the gen3 assembly remove both halves of the center console. Unbolt the assembly from the floor. Unclip the retainers where the cables go thru the front of the assembly. Unclip the cables from the shifter.

Swapping the TRD stick into the gen4 assembly is simple but a pita.
There is a collar over the stick pivot. On both sides of the collar there are hollow pins. all you have to do is punch out those pins and remove the collar and ring under the collar, remove the old stick, put in the new TRD stick and replace the ring, collar and pins. NOTE: be sure to place the oem white caps from the oem stick on the TRD stick

Installing the gen4 assembly into a gen3 is simple. All you have to do is cut the large tabs off edges of the gen4 assembly. If you set the two assemblies next to each other it will be obvious what needs to be removed. There is also a U shaped metal support at the seam between the two halves of the gen3 console you will need to cut the center of it out to fit the gen4 assembly leaving the two legs for the gen3 console to bolt back on to. Replace all the clips and cables and such and you're good to go.

For a more firm feel, remove the rubber floor bushings and bolt the assembly directly to the floor. It will need to be positioned to one side or the other so any bumps in the floor pan don't interfere with lower portion of the stick. I recomend throwing it thru the H including reverse a few times to make sure everything's clear because you will only have +1mm of clearence at the bottom of the stick at its lowest point.

Brass shifter cable bushings are also available at www.speed-source.net - their product quality is amazing. Also check out Alex's gen3 Camry w/a 3S-GTE
