i used a 6 foot demo torch... burnt right thru to the gas tank...luckily it was a car being cut up for scrap (and a bonneville at that) but just shows it could be worse...

Damn! Live an learn, now u have more wisdom! The way u describe the rest of the car,(post pics) It shouldn't be too noticeable! As far a fishing line go's use 80lb test, less than that will just break over and over!

I did something similar once! The son jumped in the pool with his new cell phone, and I was going to dry it with a hair dryer...melted it big time...hair dryers get hotter than u think!
