honestly, no one here has ever tried it as far as i know. the biggenst thing would be the cost for the extra cat and all the tuubing. in my experiance dual exhaust does help with high hp cars but im not sure if it would make any mopre differance then a bigger and better flowing Y-pipe and exhaust.
well for the piping and cat. I'm thinking bout getting a set from the junkyard. So I probably won't feel any power than? since the monly mod I did was SRI and lean fuel/ 17 degree timing advance
it would make a difference....but the problem with our cars is mostly in not having the room to run a true dual exhaust setup as well as not being able to keep the header lengths equal then

if ur running duals ur pretty much gonn have to rework the entire exhaust, junkyard stuff aint gonna cut it. and dont try to half ass somthing that my add some power(may not). do it right if ur gonna do it at all.
if he was runnign duals though they would only have to be the same distance to tthe cat right? he could do waht GM did with the GTO and run them side by side through the channel and there should be enough room if u kee them pretty tight.
well if junkyard stuff aint gonna cut den I guess I can get some cheap pipes and cat from ebay. And yea my plan was to run the pipes side by side and keaping the distance from the manifold to cat the same distance. HOw would you think it might sound tho? I assume it won't sound low and deap as of my current setup
well getting the length equal or atleast close isn't really hard, I think. But as everyone else said about the spacing I must agree. I can always go down to 2inch piping and get a little more low end torque, also makes it a little easier to get things to fit
i wouldnt go down to 2" piping .... youll lose more than you'll gain from adding the restriction
its not that you cant fit 2.5" piping anywhere, its that the underside of our cars are just so cluttered .... there is only enough space for one exhaust path really .... im sure its been done before, you just have to carefully map out where youre going to run piping - especially since the pipes for the rear 3 cylinders are going to need more room to create some sort of loop to make both pathways equal length

Wow this is really starting to look like a headache to do. I haven't really thought about doing a loop for the rear cylinder. Can't I just go without the loop and do like a 90 degree bend and go striaght from there instead?
2.25" would be best anything more on this NA engine with duals is gonna be way to big. but even if u did go 2" ud still get gains since there is actually less volume moving through the pipes. u cut the restrictionin half alerady. but like ya said, actually working the piping would be the toughest part and it would cost alot to do it right.
