2000 Camry transmission flush

I've got a 2000 Camry with 70,000 miles on it, I'm considering having a transmission flush or drain and fill before winter. The car has never had either as far as I know. The service department suggests not having the flush due to the high mileage. The service department said a drain and fill would be ok. I've read comments about pros and cons of a high mileage transmission flush. Is there any truth to this? Any recommendations?

If you are comforatble getting under the car, and changing oil, i'd say, do about 3-4 drain and fills within a week. thatll be as effective as a flush. I did mines at 50K. and the car felt a little more peppy after it. i still drain and fill with every 4-5 oil changes.

If u want to try to do the flush, youll need a case of dexron III,, i use Castrol D-3 Synthetic) whatever u choose should b ok as long as its Dexron 3. You'll need a 10mm hex, and breaker bar, it can be hard to break it initially.

Also, a drain and fill only takes 2.5 Quarts at a time. Mines is a V6 however, if you have a 4 cyl, u'll need someone else to confirm that for you.

Meh...........I say either one is fine. 70K ain't a lot of miles these days.

I'd probably just drain/fill. It's actually easier than changing motor oil since you don't do anything w/ the filter. Just drain/refill.
