4th Generation 97 Toyota Camry Retrofit

A fellow member from here asked me to post the Camry retrofit that I did, on this forum. Here's a copy of my original post. Enjoy

Well my supervisor was always asking me to retro his headlights, but the reason why I didn't want to retro them is because, 1 it has flutted lens and 2 there is no aftermarket clear headlight lens made for Camry. So one day I agreed on retrofitting my supervisors.

First task was to make the custom clear lenses. I used clear acrylic to make the lens. For projector I used FX35 projectors with OEM clear lens, not a swap. After mounting them on, I vacuumed formed an ABS shroud (custom). When the shroud were done I installed D2S bulb (85122+), and aimed them.

This whole retro was a challenge, but at the end it payed me good.

Stock flutted Lens

custom clear Lens sits in perfectly next to corner light without gaps.

Now the night shots. In this picture I took the shot right at the cut off.

That was me, thanks for stopping by. I'm pretty sure there's a lot of interest in these clear lenses, hope you can help us out with those lenses.

Not that I know of. If there were some, it would of been cheaper to make.

So you say you needed 2 pairs. Just to let you know that they are hand made so the quality is not the same as 4.5 Gen. Camry, but they are better than sanded the flutted lens. Any way you seen them in the picture.

wow, about $600 for the headlights... darn it! hehe. When I saw the pictures, I was hoping for >100
just curious... how did you learn how to make your own lens?

Like I said before its not cheap, but when you do go HID rout you'll never want to go back to halogen.
Just did a lot of research. I also like to design thing. In other words I'm self thought on making the clear lenses.
