ok i know this is disscused alot on the foruems but i still have yet to see and average price.. im planing in the next year or 2 to drop in a 3vz into my camry which is a 5fs. What is the average price range for the motor/5spd tranny/ and instal? if anyone has done it and still has the bill. Im finishing up making the camry look nice I.E. Tint, midnight blue paint, rmm front spoiler, lowered, rims, ((CAR ALARM)) and once i finish all this and some other minor work i plan on droping the 3vz and adding to it i know alot of ppl say "just sell the car and by sumthing faster to start out with" or "buy the 3vz v6 camry 5spd and your already set and done." well i love my camry and dont want to part with it, only make it better because i wont feel as good just buying the v6 camry or a whole nother car in general. my heart and sole is going into this camry which = more love for the car and more respect from ppl knowing how much work and time i put into it. so plz help me! how much is this going to set me back if i can find a cheap 5 spd 3vz? and where can i find one? there is a junk yard near by with 3 part 95-96 camrys but all are LE. HELP! Thanks
cuz im always here, but because there are a few different way to tackle the job ull have to figure out which will be the best. here... PM ASG14 or 2wickedtoyz. they both have hands on experiance with the swap. but both will tell ya the best is to find a car with the engine and trans and then just swap the whole front end.
i knwo ur attached to ur car and all but even if u did just get a v6 5speed camry it would be the same car, and more.
ok i know this is a little off topic but its not really important enough to post a new thread about... but Neutral, drive drops (easy burnouts) i know its not good for the car but would it be to easy to hurt the car? or am i safe with em as long as i dont do them all the time? because i want to try and just squeel my tires to piss off my neaboors but im afraid to try to considering would it blow my tranny? or anything close to the matter? i dont wanna have to take it to the shop to get fixed (again) for one of my stupid ideas aka ebraked through a large dirt corner at 25mph beautiful (fwd "drift") and i got a couple inches from a new cement curb and then got to close and front right tire hit it as i was in mid slide and i spun out it was fun! but messed up alignment and a couple other problems (not fun) heh but seriously what can a neutral drive drop do to my car for a heads up before i do it?
5s to 3vz swap...you need the whole front end(sub frame with axles attached and struts enginge wiring harness and ecu. and that is about the bare minimum...
adam post up that pic you took so this guy knows what i mean
this the one? Adam and i were just talking bout this.
it honestly seems like it would be better to jsut buy the car and sell ths old one instead of swap. considering near everything uve done on ur current cam can be put on a 92-93 5 speed.
You can't be doing those neutral drops, that will take out your tranny faster than anything. If you must do a burnout, engage your e-brake and floor the gas pedal. Though I doubt the 5sfe has the power to spin the tires that way, don't know for sure, never tried it in mine.
