I heard that when you get fast flashing bulbs, they are usually doing that to signal that it's at the end of it's life. each time something like that happens the next few days the light burns out.
dunno if it's true, but it appears that way.

I'm having that same problem except my Gen3 has been doing it since the curse struck me. My car is fixed, but I still have that same problem. After reading this thread I'm going to change bulbs on the whole car and see what happens...

Hey! It ain't much to beat the block down, but it'll work for now...
Some bulb styles have different "strength?" (wattage? Amperage?) even though they are all 12 volts. Go to your owner's manual and make sure that both bulbs are what they recommend. If you get two different types they flash differently. I could see where one that was getting old might change.

I forgot to say, my FRONT LEFT and REAR LEFT are doing the same thing. I'll probably change both. I gotta check the manual and hopefully they have the bulb in stock. Its' the all orange one.
Two bulbs on the same side doing the same thing sounds like something besides the bulbs. I am not familiar with Toyota's flasher system. Anyone know if one side is separate from the other?

I had this problem only the other way 'round. It only lasted until I got to work. At work I bought a new RF signal lamp for $.18, and I was good.
Try turning on your headlights, running lights, emergency flashers, and looking at both left turn signal indicators to see if there's a change. You could go to an auto parts store and have them look up a LF/LR turn indicator bulb and replace both to see what happens. Worst case scenario is you have a couple extra bulbs.
Only other thing I can think of is the flasher .. solenoid? forget what it is, but it regulates the speed of signal flashers. Usually affects both sides when it goes out though.

Damn, today, I checked everything and the rear and even bought the orange, but when I tested it out, it was normal? WTF? This problem has been going on for weeks. But then I opened the rear LEFT and wanted to check and it was okay.

I'm sorry, but could you rephrase this? I don't understand what you did, let alone what the results were. You said that it was normal. Isn't that good? Which bulb is "the orange"? And again you said that the rear left was OK, again, isn't that good?
