anyone DIY for steering rack bushings?

ive been searching these forums recently like crazy looking for info that i need, and for the most part i have been able to find most. this forum rocks. i joined awhile ago, but dont know why i never browsed here much.

well anyways, anyone here know of a DIY for this? and is the one from rockauto.com the steering rack bushing kit that i need for my 1997 Lexus Es300? ive emailed him several times now, but still no response. im fairly sure it is. but would like to make sure.
and ive tried to join the solaraguy.org, but no activation code has been issued to me through email yet. so.....
anyone? i would like to do this since i will be flushing tranny, PS, and brakes all at the same time. then the whole front end suspension will be done.
TIA
Charley

I've only ever changed the pack on a Mustang and a Dodge 1500, both or which are insanely easy. The Camry is FWD, so it will be alittle hard, but as I am recalling, not much.

The hardest part will be pressing the old bushings out without removing the rack. I pressed mine out with some sockets and a vise. You might be able to work something out with a C-clap or ball joint press. Main thing is to get the rack clear of the subframe enough to press out the bushings, but not have to disconnect the P/S lines or the steering column. Probably other people here have done this on a Camry before, and know a more precise procedure.

yeah, ive seen a writeup for an sc300 and it was fairly easy. but my luck. its be a PITA and would require something out of my reach. yeah, if the bushings are small enough, im sure i can use a c-clamp and large socket bit, but if its anything like the LCA bushings, ill just drop the idea.
