Hey guys, is a remote car starter something i could install by my self or would i need to pay a mechanic to do it? thank you

I installed one on my Camry myself. The hardest part is tapping into the ignition harness, without actually cutting the wires. If you're good at splicing and electrical work in general you can do it yourself.

if you're asking this question- ur better off payin' someone who worx @ a shop for $40 as a side job. It'll save you tons of headache later on. That's what i did!

I've had remote starters on my past two vehicles and I had them professionally installed. It's not worth the time or potential headache. Go with the a shop and that way if anything goes wrong, they're liable. If you shop around, you should be able to find a pretty good deal. I've seen ads for a one-way started installed for less than $200.
