Anything to look out for?

I'm in the process of cleaning my engine bay, and some areas are difficult to get to

I'm thinking about unplugging some of these things one at a time to clean them

So, I'm wondering what if there's anything I should look out for when I'm unplugging stuff (especially things I might not be able to get back in after I take them out, eg, the warning about the valve cover gasket)

Thanks!

no need to do all of that - youre likely to end up with more problems than you want if you start taking things apart

just give your engine bay a heavy duty wash, and it will look great!

^^ i Used engine foam brite, I just have some trouble accessing some of the wires easily...

Lol, I admit I'm a bit of a perfectionist, when I do something I want it all to look perfect (but I suppose I'll just stick with good enough)

Thanks for the advice, venom, I wont take things apart then

Yeah what he said. I used that degreaser in a can before too, but simple green is alot better, the spray seeps on everything and if its not clean enough for you, just clean it one more time and that will probably be about as clean as it is going to get..
I do this all the time at work and usually i dont cover anything, but for my own cars i say cover the alternator with plastic bag before you spray anything. also cover your air intake too, you do not want water going in there.
If your car has a distributor, definitely cover that with plastic too, and maybe even tie at the bottom of the dist with cord or something.

I've washed it with degreaser in a can, I guess I'll get some simple green (Just the regular stuff?)

I covered the alt, dist cap, and battery, didn't cover fusebox b/c I wasn't spraying there

I think for the 5sfe the intake is quite hard to reach, and out of the way. I leave my car overnight to drive anyhow
