opinions on 95 Camry XLE

I am looking to buy a 95 Camry xle it has 167,000 miles on it. asking price of 3500 and from what I have seen from around here thats a good price. I went to test drive it today and WOW it was like a new car started right up and drove like a dream. I had it up to 85 on the highway and no odd sounds or anythind and it rode very smooth. I did notice a small oil leak from the valve cover. but overall a great car. the guy said he got it on trade and knows nothing about it. what are some things I should look at before I buy?

the mileage isn't low by any means....but that's a pretty decent price for an xle that seems to be in excellent opinion.

the only thing to really look for- you already saw. these engines have a habit of leaking from the valve covers, but nothing astronomical or damaging. They just need a change every 100K or so (if not a bit less).

At this point, just out of principle, I'd try to deal him down a bit just because it's about time for a timing belt/water pump, seals, pullies, change, etc. so general maintenance that he can't guarantee has been done.

If he can go down to $3K, I'd pick up that gem
