3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
yes, I searched prior to this but it didnt really help much. For some time I've been trying to figure out what exact color my car is. The car was previously totaled so there's no paint code sticker. I must say the shop did a good job rebuilding this car(it had no drivers side ) Obviously I could go the dealer, but I hate them . I've seen this color often, but when I go to an auto parts store I never seem to find a match.
So the question is, to all camry owners is, do you have this color and what is it? The car is a 92' and made in north america. I figure someone has this color.

eyeball96 helped me out it's magenta 3L3. I'm going to try to find some and see if that's correct. It's tough, his car is beautiful and his pic is on a nice clear day. Seems every time I take a pic recently it's overcast.
Thanks for the paint chart
since were on the topic of paint, is it feasible to re-pinstripe a car without repainting the car? I'm not fond of this white pin stripe, thought black would really pull the theme I'm going for together. any ideas? The only thing I could think of is vinyl over the white stripes.

If the paint chart I posted is accurate, then it can't be the same paint code as Joe's. His coupe is a '96 and his color is unique to that year according to the chart.
Your car is a '92, so it would either have to be 3J9 or 3K2 according to the chart.
I completely removed the pinstripe from my '95. I prefer no pinstripe myself. Much cleaner looking, and pinstripe makes waxing a pain. It always gets a buildup of wax along it's edges that you have to clean up afterward. Is your pinstripe painted, or is it tape?

i think the chart is wrong .... that definitely looks like 3L3 which is what Joe has, and Joe knows his paint code quite well because he's had several things colormatched

this is starting to make me wonder if the shop used its own color. I'd say from that chart 3K2 is closest but none really match. It does have the pearl clear coat. Man, see I knew it wasnt easy
