Send him a PM, he's a member of this forum as well under the same name, he usually posts in the Gen 5/6 section.

you lose quite a bit of power from the engine to the wheels because of rotating mass, gears, converters, etc.

idk about 12 hp, but its possible

So what? Can this be done on a gen3 or not? Even if it's 5-10 hp it's still well worth it for the money.

i would go with the Agency pulley. No need for a new belt like the ZPI pulley.

I have heard nothing but bad things about them. And doesn't the Gen3 pulley act as a harmonic balancer?

^ it depends which pulleys youre talking about

underdrive pulleys for accessories are different than crank pulleys themselves

On average, an engine will lose 10-15% of its rated hp through a manual transmission, 15-20% through an automatic. So, if the engine is pushing 360hp at the crank, 20% of that is 72hp. Every engine's hp rating is measured at the crank, and that measurement is what the manufacturer says the output is. They don't say what the actual output (wheel hp) is.

That means for people like myself with a 96 5sfe Camry (California emissons), my 125hp(rated) engine with auto trans only puts down 100hp to the ground.
The less weight the engine has to get moving the better. I would do the light weight pullies, or remove the internal balance shaft assembly (about 30 pounds) if I had the time or money. Every little bit helps I say.

True, true. I would just be cautious and wait for responses from people that are more familiar with pros/cons.
