ok guys so today on my way home i was on a main highway and speeding like i always do because i have never seen any cops.. well just my luck! a lil old fat cop driving a maroon unmakred ford fusion pulls me and clocked me at 90mph in a 65mph bah! well anyways i get the whole lecture and he gives me the ticket... its a warning?!?!?!?!?!? The cop gave me a warning for doing 25mph over the limit! hahahaha sooooo lucky!!!!!!!!! he said it woulda been $400-$600 ticket, 6 points, and $1000 onto insurance everymonth. well i think i was pretty lucky today! what do u think?
dont know, but jaw dropped when i read cop in ford fusion , never ever saw anyone stopped for traffic ticket from unmarked car. Unless cops are looking for something else, or just have too much time on their hands. Tough luck, but atleast only a warning. $1000 month additional does not sound right though.

im used to unmarked cars here in MD. just have to look for the MOST base model with tinted windows and an antena. glad u got a warning, maby u wont speed so much now.
I usually drive at 80, here in Cali I see cops laying speed traps the most, and sometimes they can be pretty well concealed
But I always slow down when I see anything that looks like a crown vic
At night I look for their headlights
Slowing down for Crown Vics aren't enough now. You aren't stupid, they aren't either. They know that you know about the Crown Vics. We have an unmarked WRX, yellow ITR typeR, and a BMW 328i here... Just when you thought you were safe.

wow! funny you said that, I been wondering when we'd start seeing cops in japanese cars and german...
Around here, camaro's, Expeditions, Suburbans, new chargers, an old trans am, jeep Cherokee's, and of course crown vics and impalas. If it sucks fuel you can be sure my county own it. The only ones unmarked are the impalas and vics, they kinda stick out
Anyone else here made it there job to remember headlights and tail lights of potential cop cars? I'm pretty good at it now... I'm not one for using radar detectors.

come to the netherlands you can see european cop cars......i am so happy with it (volkswagens, audi s6,subaru impreza wrx, mercedes, bmw, volvo s60, ......italy i have seen a lambo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltCiuNWHBdo)
A couple of years we have traject control.
When you come on the highway they take a picture and after you leave.
Then they have a average speed.
Wow, Spitfire you were REALLY lucky to get off with a warning. That must have been an extremely forgiving cop who's not too strict about meeting his monthly ticket quota. I only got 1 speeding ticket so far and it was for driving 92 in a 65MPH freeway. That was back when I had a gen2 camry 4 cylinder, haha. Now I have a gen4.5 Camry V6 and I still speed, especially with few traffic on the road. Anyways, my ticket was $370 but since I lived in CA I was able to do a trial by declaration and managed to get the ticket dismissed. Since then I got a Valentine One radar detector. It's been my best buddy in the car. I'm also surprised that you guys have such diverse police vehicles. In my area I only notice Crown Vics and very few Camaro. Oh yeah, I think there's some Ford F150 cop trucks too.

I can usually spot them but there are cars that look similar to them as well: At night the 03 Ford Mustang with its headlights on. I have a radar detector but it's not something that I would want to rely on. I usually spot the cop before my radar detector goes off. The only time it's useful is when there are cars ahead of me that are leading the pack on a straight-away.
My only speeding ticket was for 95mph in a 55mph zone clocked by vascar. $207 fine, 5 points, and a 15 day suspension. I wish I could have gotten a warning.
