Valve Guides???

Hi,i had a used motor installed in my 1998 Camry 4cyl. about 3,4 weeks after i got it back the engine will smoke when i start in the morning.it is a blue smoke.that to me means the valve guides leaking.my question is what is the seals made of ( of what material is the seals )

the place that did the install is to replace at no charge

?? what would a shop charge to replace the valve seals???

Toyota valve stem seals have a habit of drying up and leaking as you describe if the engine sits without running for weeks/months. Try to find newer seals made of Viton.

The usual procedure is to remove/reinstall the head which can take 6-7 hours. The seals can also be replaced with head still on the block but this is even more time consuming unless the shop is set up for this job.
