ok, so me and my friend were driving home, and suddenly my car started making really strange noises, and the rpm meter went crazy. we pulled over, turned it off, popped the hood. one of the spark plugs had come out of its socket and was lying on top of the engine block. i decided not to risk driving and left the car in a parking lot for tonight. whats wrong with it and what should i do? thanks
Buy 4 new sparkplugs (the escaping exhaust gases might have damaged the plug) (use plain denso iridiums) install and it should all work. Hopefully your threads weren't damaged.

So the wire had come off? And the plug itself was off too? That can't be good. It sounds like head work, unless whoever installed the plugs last turned it 2 threads.

It shouldn't be too big of a worry, it happen to my cousin's 96 nissan altima while we were driving in the highway. His situation was that he just bought 4 new NGK irdium IX sparkplugs like a week before but never replaced the old wires and in the end we just had to buy a new set of wires and that one spark plug that popped out was still pretty good by checking the tip and everything worked.
While driving to a auto store in the middle of nowhere with only 3 spark plugs on the 4 cylinder was funny as hell the car was rough and shaking everywhere and not to mention loud really loud lol.

How in the hell does a spark plug "just pop out"? I mean I have heard about Ford's spitting plugs due to weak head designs (5.4 V8 and 6.8 V10), but those were serious problems. At best it could be repaired with a helicoil, but at worst a new head may be required.

I'd try reinstalling the plug before you buy anything. If the threads in the head for the plug are stripped, you are going to need some professional repair.
well, i went to checkers last night and got new plugs and wires. i put the new plug in and it started working fine. later today, i am going to replace the rest of the plugs and wires. thanks for all the help. you guys are car savers.
