Inspect the trunk lid hinge ... look for broken wires or bare insulation.

I think dc_98_cam means the loom of wires, located by the driver's side trunk hinge. Open up that loom and look for frayed or broken wires. Repair as necessary.

Those wires look intact, nothing loose or out of place. Also, I hadn't opened my trunk anytime recently, until today. But I still tried wiggling them, but they all look good. The guy at the auto part store said it might be my brake sensor under the pedal???

Thank you though for the prompt replies!!!!

Follow your brake pedal up. There should be a switch or sensor which activates the brake lights when the pedal is depressed. Usually pretty simple once you figure out how to contort your body to reach it.

can you describe a little more? what do you mean brake is not working? you mean when you push all the way down ..there is not resistance at all? if a sensor goes bad, u get engine check light..i don't think a sensor...
