Stock shit sucks!

So the other day i had my Camry on the lift trying to find where the oil was leaking from. so i decided to tighten down the bolts around my oil pan and 6 of those fuckers broke. so now i have the fun job of drilling them all out and re-taping them. factory bolts are SHIT they were all coroded and everything so be careful if you changing a gasket or something

i have to disagree with you,
those oil pan 10mm bolts are made what they meant for, if they dont' snap off when you over torque the bolt, you might have a bigger problem like stripping the thread hole on the aluminum block where the oil pan mate with the engine.

when it is leaking, if i were you, i would rather remove oil pan, and apply new silicone, then tighten bolts evenly, and carefully.

The torque spec for the oil pan nuts/bolts is only 48 inch/lbs. The sealing is done by the sealant, not by the torque.

What was your torque wrench set to when the bolts broke?

3/8 ratchet with a 6 ft cheater only has one setting - ludicrous torque.

It's an oil pan. You need one 10mm socket, a new gasket and you're straight

I like how six broke. The first one, eh it was weak, the second one, huh, the fifth one...

I once took my car in to a shop to get the tires rotated and somehow they broke 8 lugs off. Guy comes out, well your gonna need new lugs they all snapped off. hmm, so you broke 8 of them off? how'd ya manage that? Well you want us to put new ones on, no no, I dont need wheels on my car I'll just pull it home like a rickshaw.

Well thats different, sounds like whoever put your wheels on before cross threaded 8 of them, thats why they broke when he took them off.

Thing was, they did it on the back and I was a bit mad at what they did so I had them fix what they broke and I took it home. I went to start loosening the front wheels(they broke the rear wheel lugs), the bolts were seized. So I got my torch out and heated em up. They came right off. So it seems they were rusty and overtightened and they just snapped em off with an air wrench, rather recklessly. I ended up rotating them myself, lubing the bolts so it wouldnt happen again. Didn't want to do it myself with all the snow on the ground, but at $6 a lug, it was worth the effort.

I apologize, your first post clearly says you were tightening them down to stop a leak, but if you were taking them off then I'm sorry.
