yes you can

the only difference between the clusters is that for the auto custer, they have the gera selector lights. just don't hook those up (well, you won't have any plugs for them with your 5-speed harness anyway)

and when you say sender, do you mean the speed sensor on the tranny?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, and I'm sure someone will, but when NEW cars are made the speedo is allowed to be 5-10 mph off, so it may be possible that nothing is actually broken in your car.

^ yeah...I don't remember what they allow the difference to be, but I don't think that it was as much as 9mph though for sure....otherwise people could sue the manufacturers when they get speeding tickets...

something else to consider though- are you running any aftermarket wheels/tires, etc.?

running 14" steelies w/cooper snows up front for the winter. got a used cluster from ebay tonight. too cold to fool around in the salvage yard. Traditionally when I open a dash, I change all the bulbs. Anything I should know? Size or availability? Thanks for your help

I know this is an old post, but my speedometer is off as well, about the same as yours. I too checked my speed vs a gps and confirmed it being off.

I replaced the speed sensor, that did nothing except put a dent in the wallet.

so if you solved the problem I would love to know how you did it. mine is a 94 camry 5 speed coupe. I do know that most of the electronics are 94-95 only.

thanks
