92 camery overheated new pump & belt Won't start
92 Toyota Camry 2.2L 4 cyl. 5S- FE motor
Here is the problem:
1)Vehicle severely overheated and would not start when cool. Installed: new water pump and timing belt.
2)Tried to start no spark, pulled distributor, checked high - tension cord, signal generator, igniter and coil. Coil was borderline replaced coil. Kept blowing AM2 fuse.
3)Removed noise suppression filter in distributor (as per another post at this forum) Car started. Timed vehicle, ran great for two days.
4)3rd. day short trip, 10 miles, everything ok, then without any symptoms the vehicle lunged, tach jumping erratic, check engine light came on momentarily. As quick as it happened things went back to normal.
5)Yesterday, car started fine ran for 15 min. car lunged, tach went erratic, vehicle stalled. Restarted got it home, not to far from the house. Tried to restart, no good. Checked fuses, all ok. Pulled plug no spark!
