Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
well i just got my 2nd speeding ticket.... in the last 2 weeks bah! but w/e im thinkin about payin the camry off this summer and buying a toyota tacoma 4x4 ftw. what yall think? cause i was lookin into 3sgte swaps and the prices just kept rising and rising...... wast of money lol... and theres no place around here that does cheap swaps for ever v6 swap... so i have no hope.... any last options to let me keep this camry? any? or just forget it and pay it off this summerand by the truck at the end after sellin camry..?!?
i dont see why giving up the camry would help you not speed... you are driving a camry that is already a great decrease in the amount you attract the cops. buy a v1 and slow down
Which ever you can afford. There has been so many times I want to give up on these camrys especially the gunmetal one, but I have gone to far to stop now. By the time the car gets done it will be a whole new car minus the chassis.
I would hit up Gino, fly his ass out, get a donor car, have him swap in a v6, then give him some **** (I am kidding Gino, unless you want it).
where can i get a 1v from? like site wise? or someplace in the matteR? im bad at this lol. cause ive looked around in the area for v6 cams and all ive found are the 4's (what i have) all i gotta do is just engine and tranny swap? and everything will b pretty good?
you will speed in any car until you learn better .... complete the swap (either 3S-GTE, 1MZ or 3VZ - decide if you want a 4cyl or 6cyl, thats the real issue ... forget about price or power)

i really want the 1mz but no idea where to find?! the 3sgte is to much work.... but i deff want the v6 no doubt but i cant find any v6 cams around here... milt how much it cost u for ur swap?
1MZ and 3VZ front clips or swaps would be about the same ... and both are "camry" engines
depending on which year, they are both around 200hp - but with slightly different feels
like i said, the 3S-GTE swap wouldnt be TERRIBLY difficult for a shop that knows what they are doing, but you would have to find a shop that knows how to do custom swaps so they could make mounts, unless you could ask Wraith or UfoZ what they did for mounts
im sure Milt, along with several other guys here, can attest to the exact price & labor of these swaps

im broke... no money and after the money i gotta fork up for insurance and the tickets now im even more broke lol. yea it is just wishful thinking... lol thats why im considering the tacoma casue i do alot of offraoding with friends but only one without the truck lmao just the kid with wishful thinkin of a fast cam lol... milt answer!!! lmao how much is it for the 3s or 1m?? and if i do go through with all this and manage to pull some money outa my ass this summer lol i want to do the swap and 5spd tranny swap
you want to give up on a camry (slow car stockwise) because of the speeding tickets and yet you want to do a swap to make your car faster?? um.....are you sure about your "plan?"
trading in your car for a truck to go offroading is fine if thats what you want but you can still get a speeding ticket either way. its not the car its you, the driver at fault
