4th Generation E-Brake Wire

Hey I have an In-Dash DVD player that Im looking to install and it has this pink wire. In the instructions it says to hook up to the Emergency Brake... thing is I Don't know where to find that in a 1998 Camry and I can't just ground it
So if anyone knows where to plug that E-Brake wire up to it would be appreciated thanks

ground it

I just installed a Jensen in dash dvd for my gen 3 camry and i just coupled the pink wire with the black wire and grounded them both, no issues thus far.

You need to ground it somehow to get the dvd player to play movies.

^ Exactly! I laughed my ass off when I learned some aftermarket manufacturers were using a wire to tap into the E-brake. This would insure that only "parked cars" could play movies! OMFG. As a few of you have figured it out, all you need to do is ground that wire, and you're good to go.

Pioneer got tricky though by using the GPS signal (in their high end units) to sense if the vehicle was in motion....and if it was, the DVD wouldn't play on the head unit. Go Jenson Go!

yeah it is a joke...apparently some jensen decks smartened up and you can't just ground it...you need to input some whacky code...i just tried grounding mine and it worked
the model is VM8012 and you have to join the pink wire with the Black GROUND wire that is outlined in your owners manual.

Do you know anything about a Jensen VM9311TS? Its an older model but there is a code you can put in to Bypass the break so you dont need to ground it or use a pulse switch or anything. Thats why I was gonna just hook the E-Brake wire up how it is supposed to go, and just input that code so I dont have to ground anything

but I dont know where that E-Brake wire goes
