Gen4 Keyless Entry / Remote Starter DIY (Illustrated)

Hi all, this is my DIY for installing a keyless entry / remote starter on a Gen 4 Camry. I installed one on our 1997 Camry and took pictures throughout. Happy Installing!

UPDATED WITH CURRENT URL ON WEBSITE I OWN - so this should be here when you check. My apologies to everyone who looked for this on the old, defunct URL.

Might need to do some editing, it says it exceeded the data transfer limit.

It would definitely be similar, although I am not sure how similar. You may be removing slightly different components to get access to all this stuff on a Gen 3, and you may have different colors/locations for the wires on a Gen 3, but you would still be doing the same essential things as on a Gen 4 (or any car for that matter). Figuring out what to remove to access this stuff is not hard at all, just pay attention to how it came off like anything else. And as far as different wiring colors/locations, this is a great place to find that information. http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/vehicles.html

If you have any questions just let me know ycartf@yahoo.com
