Switching out the OEM Stereo for 97 Camry

I bought an Awai stereo with CD. Yesterday, I took the OEM stereo out of my 97 Camry. Then I noticed that it has a separate AMP. Should I bypass the AMP when I wire the new stereo in? My concern is whether the impedance will match between my new stereo and the factory AMP. Thanks for any hel and idea.

if its a factory amp, bypass it.

Yeah, if you have a factory external amp, you'll need to bypass it becuase you'll be using the internal amp from your new aftermarket head unit.

Near where the wiring harness is that plugs into your factory unit (I assume it's a single plug), there should be two other harnesses tucked away in the dash. Those two harnesses are for hooking up a head unit with an internal amp.
