radio removal

Hey folks, this may pretty mundane and simple to most of you all, but I could use some help. Where if any is there a possible photo example of removing the stock radio so I can install a new one for my daughter? I suppose a really good written example in step by step form would work. It is a 97 camry w auto xmsn. Thanks in advance,

Assuming the '97 is like my '95...

1. Remove U-shaped trim ring, it just pops off.
2. Remove the four 10mm bolts.
3. At this point, the radio is loose, just pull it out and remove the wiring attached to the back. Remove the bracket that is attached to the radio, you'll need to attach that to the new radio. The bracket is held on by two or four phillips head screws (small ones), easy.

That's it. This was by far the easiest radio removal I've done over the years.

Here's a picture of the radio I put into my car, it's a Sony GT410U. The orange light is from the flash drive I have plugged into the front of it.

I guess I'm in the same boat. I've now removed the radio and need to install the new one, which has a cd, mp3, etc. How to do it since the harness is different and the number of wires are not the same? a

The generation 4 is slightly different than a generation 3. You begin by removing the ashtray and the lighter. Then you get your fingers under the bottom of the trim piece at the outside edges and pull up. Then work your fingers up each side of that piece to release the clips. After that it is the same procedure as the generation 3.
