4th Generation AVIC D3 install on 2000 camry HELP find VSS

I spent numerous hours installing this multimedia head unit and it calls for the VSS aka speed sensor. I looked up the wiring specs and it said it was in the passanger dash and it was a purple and gold wire. I looked for an hour for that wire and never found it. Anyone else done this type of work? Also does anyone know how to bypass the sensor to allow videos to play while driving? I made a switch to act as the ebrake but once I start rolling ti shuts off. Any input us greatly appreciated

Check out www.avic411.com/forum there's a lot of info there including DIY bypass threads with pics!

As for the VSS wire, check out http://www.rostra.com/techsupport-main.asp

Looks like it's a purple/white wire.

OT-I have this unit in my '95 and love it!

You can use a switch to pretend its ground, I had that on my old Pioneer DVD player I would switch it and then it would think the car was parked and play videos.

Just installed a Pioneer Avic F90BT in my Gen 4 camry. Finally found the VSS wire after lots of searching the internet for its location. I also did the parking brake bypass, which apparently is different on the F series units than it is for the D series.
