I got owned with due to cold weather!

So, its like 5 degrees out here in Rockford and I needed to change the alternator on the lexus. So I said "it should take me like 20 mins" So I decide to do it since I also needed the fuckin car tomorrow for work. Put the new alt in, by the time its in and I adjust the tension on the belt, my hands have lost feeling. They are like robotic prongs. So I hurry up and tighten everything, and go to start the car. The fucking belt broke from the cold, got tangled with the power steering belt and fuckin made some nasty noises and crazy ass rubber smell. Turn the car right off and found me a fuckin nice mess all around the crank pulley! I was like fuck me...SO spent an hour trying to get this out.....

and thats like not even all of the little sections. FUCK THIS WEATHER!

that sucks, coincidently my neighbor changed his alt in his 91' accord. Well long story short, he went through 4 belts, before it was ok.

would a hair dryer or heat gun remedy this problem? just to soften things up for the initial start up.
My neighbor is a mechanic, so I didnt go asking him how he was going to fix it, being he was more than irritated.

lmfao, I love that movie

Make sure the new alternator pulley is aligned with the crank and A/C pulley (if you have A/C). If to far off it can cause issues with belt life.
