Strange electrical happenings

Hi folks,

With the key out of the ignition the turn signals blink and the dashboard lights also blink.

If I activate the turn signal the door locks engage.

If I try to start the car, nothing happens, no starter motor engagement.

I replaced the ignition switch, and that's not it. Same bizarre behavior.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Just looked up the turn signal and doorlock cross activation problem yesterday... There is a solid green and a solid light green wire ... going to the door lock pin of the master door lock switch. These two wires traverse ... I think... the top of the steering wheel column, underneath the driver side dash panel. If you locate these two wires ... one locks, one unlocks ... buy 2 or 3 feet of plactic wire guard at the parts store ... the kind with a slit along one side ... and see if you can slide it up so that the green and light green wires are protected from grounding out ... over the steering column area... This ought to fix that particular problem.
...
The starter problem might be independent from the others .... starter contact worn out located within the starter maybe .... Try jumper cables .... You might have to remove the battery and have it checked at the parts store ... do the same with the starter. ... Not sure, but your alternator might not be charging the battery ... remove and have checked at the store too. ... A reminder, remove the negative battery cable from the battery before you commence any electrical repairs ... replace afterwards. Are you cleaning your battery terminals and interior cable clamp contact surfaces with a small fine wire brush? Contact surfaces need to be clean, bright, shiny metal....tighten snugly, but not too much.

Turn signals blink .... are you sure the hazard button is not sticking?
Push hazard button on and off a few times ...

Are all of the dash idiot lights flashing or are only the blinker indicator lights flashing? Does the flashing remain the same with the key off, in the accessory position, in the run position and in the start position?

If dc_98_cam's suggestion doesn't work it might be interesting to begin removing fuses until the behavior stops. That might give you a clue where to work. Since this seems to be a cross connect remove and replace each fuse to see if maybe two fuses might affect the flashing.
