foudn out my check is in the mail, time for suspension shopping, so anyone got anything better then http://www.rms-usa.com/product_p/tok-hpk353.htm for the gen 4? anyone got something they are selling and willing to ship? just figured id ask for advice and sellers here first rather then spending my cash elsewhere or on a bad deal....
yea i havent found anything thats struts and springs any cheaper... and ost times just the struts cost more, but you never know if one of the local yodas has some seller bookmarked or has a set stashed...
There this store in Anahiem, CA, where you can buy a package deal of springs and struts for just UNDER $380. Yes, that's right $380! Well, that's the deal that I got them for about 2 years ago. You'll have a choice of either...
- Sprint Springs & Tokico Blue Struts
- Spring-Tech Springs & Tokico Blue Struts
Yup, that's a pretty sweet deal. Here's their site...
Other than that, let me brag about the other springs that i've tried. Cause honestly, i've tried nearly every spring made out there for a GEN 3 CaM. Here are some of the ones i've had in the past...
*** No offense to anyone who currently owns any of these ***
*** These are just my personal opinions from my past experiences ***
- Eibach (No better than stock springs)
- H&R (Tended to dip in the front when braking hard)
- Intrax (Just a bit better than the first two)
- Sprint (After a year or so, the rear sags)
- Spring-Tech (oddly, one of the best springs that i've tried, great cornering)
- etc...
here are some of the other springs i would of tried if i didn't get so tired of springs... (some of my buddies have/had them)
- Tein (Overall, excellent handling, very responsive)
- Tenzo-R (Stiff ride, yet very much in control of the road)
- Vogtland (from what i heard, "feels like a BMW 5-series")

What do i have now? K-Sport GT-Pro Coilovers
Interesting how opinions vary. I've consistently seen Eibach and H&R rated as the two best springs out there.

well i check them out, only springs, no struts, and the set i am looking at is the whole shebang, thanks for the lnik!
hopefully Venom will get his suspension on already and report how the all toks setup ride.
after having cars that were low but soft springs and cars with higher but stiff springs. i take the latter. id much rather have a firmer ride then lower hight.
since its a daily driver, i dont want to be scraping peds off the road, but i dont wanna look like a 4wd either....lol i want something in the middle with a ride that wont kill my back, but dont feel like a land yacht...lol

hey bro, i was just wondering... what type of ride quality are you looking for? (i.e.- soft, smooth, agressive, stiff, etc.)
If i were still into springs i would definitely recommend "Teins", they're really smooth for everyday driving, and when you drive agressively, it handles extremely well. let me know.

when i say higher i mean the drop isnt as significant as say sprint or somthing like that. if it were me id choose Teins, H&R or Eibach. and get some KYB struts. slightly stiffer then stock(more so on the rebound) but still soft, or at lest softer then Tokicos.
i want a firmer ride then stock, of course since my car has like 120g on the clock and prolly never had shocks, and the old man used to carry home trunk loads of sackrete and other building materials (the day i bought it i vacuumed out a good 2 quarts worth of pebbles and sand from the trunk...) anything will be an inmprovement, my big think is doing what i want with the cash i got, and right now i cant even touch anything else for close to the 400 dollar line for all 4 struts and springs...i used to drive ladder bar'd drag vehicles on the street so i doubt there is much out there for this car that will be any rougher then what i have driven in the past...
im getting there as fast as i can, the biggest chunk of that change should be in the mail in the next day or two... then the fun begins...lol im hoping venom gets his done with a good diy wrote up before i do mine... i know the gen 3 and 4 are different but at least ill get a good idea of what to watch out for
