3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
First time posting, but it certainly wasn't for a lack of searching.
I recently repainted the rear of my 1995 Camry with a friend to rid it of a few rust spots developing, and as part of the process pulled some of the badges. I'm not wanting to just paint them, and I'd prefer to buy new ones all around before putting them back on just to clean the car up. I just want the front and rear toyota badges and the C A M R Y letters all in silver.
Problem: Where can you find these badges online? EBay wasn't too fruitful, so is there anywhere here people use to get new emblem kits?
I've actually found alot of toyota emblems on ebay but they are mostly from private sellers and or used... Not sure if your are interested in used ones or not.

Yeah, the EBay ones are mostly used or not the right size, and say things like "shows normal use". I have no idea what that means.
I'm not interested in customizing my Camry. I just want it to look like a nice clean DD.
The ones I removed look pretty rough and are gold. My last resort will be just to paint them, but I'd much rather keep this car looking stock if you guys can help me find emblems.
The Toyota "Sombrero" or "Cowboy" emblem as they call it, for the rear deck is available from the dealer, and it has the necessary pegs to match the holes on your trunk lid. I bought one not long ago for $22.08 for my '95. I couldn't find the right size on eBay in a new one.
According to the dealer parts dept., in order to get the cowboy emblem for the front grill on a 95-96, you have to buy the entire grill. You can get the front grill emblem for a 92-94 separately but it's a different size. I ended up getting a new front grill emblem from eBay. It was not from a Camry and it didn't have the pegs like my original had, but it was exactly the same size, fit perfectly, and was brand new with automotive adhesive tape already on it. $15.49 shipped at the time. Here's the same one I got from the same seller...
I'm not 100% sure, but I don't believe you can get the C A M R Y letters for the rear center panel separately from the dealer either. I think they come with the panel. Check with your dealer to be sure. If that's the case, you'd either have to try to find those on eBay or order a new center panel. There are a couple of sets of them on eBay right now, but they're used and look to be in only average condition. These are harder to come by becuase they're pegged and a lot of people don't remove them when debadging. You could also try the junk yard but I didn't have any luck finding any camry badging at my local yards.
It's a place called "your local Toyota dealership's parts department" and the emblems you are looking for are almost certainly available and are probably very reasonably priced.
General advice: If looking for a genuine Toyota part, Toyota is a good place to go to find it. Just a suggestion.
Yep, as I said, those C A M R Y letters are somewhat rare on eBay. All I can suggest is that you keep watching for them daily. I've seen them before, but they go fast. And, as you've noted they're generally not new, so you may not be able to find any that are in great shape.
I'm pretty sure you have to buy a whole new rear center panel to get those letters from the dealership, but you should check to be sure. If you have to buy the whole panel it won't be cheap, but if you want brand new chrome that will probably be your only option.
One thing to consider, if you buy a new center panel from the dealership, you may be able to sell your old center panel with the gold lettering and recoup at least part of the cost.
cmjohnson: Before you get too loud, they don't sell those letters at the dealership. You have to buy the entire panel, which is about $175 last I checked.
Thankfully, I did win a set of EBay for $12 or so last week.
