u mean racing seats? thats somthing u should get if and ONLY if u race. they are not comfortable, expensive if u buy them right and usually requre some modification to the seat rails. my advice is to find an OEM seat, either yota or somthing else that will fit and put that in. ive herd of people putting the IS seats in the camry/solara but have never seen it. ill admit it looks cool but its a waste unless u race or are a hardcore show car.
i have had some people try to justify purchasing racing seats saying the harnesses are safer in an accident, which is true if setup right, but u dont need racing seats for harnesses or at least some harnesses.
I have heard that harnesses can be less safe on the street, which is why i havent gotten into them... that and my car is too slow
I have corbeau CR1 seats in the solara and I love them- a frim hold but they are still very comfortable. They also make brackets for the gen 4 camry (same as the solara ones) that will bolt right up. For a cheaper seat with a drop in bracket, corbeau is pretty solid.
yeah ive seen thoes, theyre nice but not more then u need. as far as the harnesses, ive had friends do them both ways. my one friend bough some CHEAP ass "sport" seats and a cheap ass set of harnesses. he had to mash the brakes one time and the damn harness adjusters just slipped right off and the back of the seat nearly broke off the base but another friend who regularly takes his race gti to scca races has only some OEM corrado seats and one $200 5 point and he has never had a single problem.
^ the other issue with that is custom brackets... which i hear can be a nightmare. that also would make me a little nervous... not sure where I stand on that yet. if you want to run nice seats though like Brides or Sparcos the brackets pretty much have to be custom... its a tough decision.
celi seats are the perfect cross between comfort and performance if you ask me...but I'm biased since I have them...lol
I wanted a set ever since I sat in ratko's car and tony's car, and then now I've got them....you sit a good 2 or 3 inches lower, but it's adjustable, so you can move yourself up
I like the fact that I sit lower- it makes me feel a lot more in touch with my driving than at stock height, which I always felt was a bit too high

well, it's a long story....but long story short, the seats are the ones originally from ratko's car and it went through a number of changes of ownership before it got to me.
the sliders/rails are still the celi rails, but custom mounting brackets were made so that it would bolt up to the gen3 stock seat bolts
the general price from what I heard from him back in the day was about 150-200 per set for materials and labor at a shop....and for something like this, unless you know that you can trust your welds, it's best to take it to a shop and to also use solid steel and not something softer and easier to work with like aluminum (which would be a bitch to weld as well without melting lol), etc.
