Hi All. I get 250 Miles on my camry and its a V6. Just wanted to know is it normal on a Gen 4 or do i have a problem with my ride. I dont floor it much, just to overtake once of twice. I have searched the forum and found members getting upto 500 miles on a V6. Thanks in advance you all for your replies. CHEERS

Guessing that 250 is a little low on mpg for a V6 ... You would have to be making a lot of fast take-offs or just 'stop and go' driving.
If it is possible, I would get an exhaust emissions test for excessive Hydrocarbons .... raw fuel ... going out the exhaust pipe.
It might be that something is wrong with one of the O2 sensors, but is not showing up as a CEL.
How many miles on your engine?

You'd get a better indication by calculating how many MPG you're getting, rather than just noting how many miles you're driving between fillups (if you're not already calculating that).
I get 21 to 24 MPG around town with my '95 V6 with about a 70/30 mix of conservative/aggressive driving. I haven't taken it on any road trips, so I don't know what kind of highway mileage it gets.
I usually pump around 15 gallons or so when I fill it up, so on the high side I'm getting 360 miles in between fillups. Low side around 314 miles.
Fuel tank capacity on Gen3s is something like 18+ gallons I believe, so burning a full tank would get me around 430 miles in city driving. I imagine I could probably eek out 500 miles on a long highway trip.
Some people top their tank off and drive til they're almost running on fumes. Somebody doing that and putting in a lot of highway miles could consistently be getting close to 500miles on a tank.
Again, calculating your mpg would be a better indication.
Also, are you burning regular unleaded or premium? Premium is recommended by Toyota for the V6. And, are you keeping your tires properly inflated? Both those things can affect your mileage as well.
I have calculated the mpg. Filled and Emptied the tank 4 times straight with premium fuel and got and average of 14.5 mpg around town. not much highway driving. It has 150,000 miles on it and runs great. No CEL. I take off with the RPM touching around 2600 max between the first and second gear and cruise around 80 to 90 KPH. By the way what is the MPG for a GEN 4 four cylinder. I owned one for 3 years and traded it with a V6 for power, better option, color and never calculated the MPG.

Yeah, 14.5 mpg would be pretty low regardless of your driving habits/conditions. I'm no mechanic so I'd be getting my car checked out by my mechanic if my mileage was that low
By the way what is the MPG for a GEN 4 four cylinder. .
For I4 .... maybe 21/22 mpg city
last highway trip was about 34 mpg.
Depends greatly on how many stoplights you get, how you accelerate,
and traffic jams... To some extent on the season .... a little better in warmer weather. How hot is it in Dubai?

On a gen 3.5 (same engine), I'm calculating 15-20 MPG with the lower end being 100% short city trips and the latter with 25-40% highway driving. It's gone down as low as 13 MPG but that's rare. It's always been this way and the car has had its major tune up (timing belt, water pump, air filter, spark plugs, tranny flush etc..) not too long ago so I highly doubt anything is wrong with the car. The car has 81K miles if that's relevant.
Just be aware that many short city trips contributes to poor fuel economy. If your trips are short, your car isn't fully warmed up and isn't operating at peak efficiency. For reference, when I'm driving 100% city short trips I average 18 MPG [I keep track in Excel] with my 2AZ-FE I4. It's very low by a lot of people's standards but if I'm busy with work/school, I can drive less than 2 miles per trip and only twice a day at that.

Thanks for sharing the info guys. Looked closely at the car today and it seems like the previous owner never even bothered to open the hood. The fuel filter is all rusty, never touched for eight years. Two vaccum hoses were not connected and a lot of dust all over the engine bay. The interior is shiny and in top shape, not a scratch and spot.
This car needs a major tuneup, will take it to my mechanic and have him check my car. will keep you all posted about the MPG after the tuneup. CHEERS
