USA Rattling sound on bumpy roads

Re.: Camry 1997, 82K miles, 4-cyl
I noticed a rattling sounds coming from the front, when I drive on bumpy roads. I suspected the struts, but a friend of mine check them and declared them ok. Any idea what I should check?
TIA,
Audax

Do a search for "strut mounts" on this forum. The upper strut mounts are a known trouble area on the 97-99 Camrys. This has been covered numerous times. Other areas to check are the swaybar end links and the swaybar bushings. Jack up the car and inspect these items.

^^^3rd that! I'd bet money it's the strut mounts. A "visible" inspection won't declare bad strut mounts. It's a sound that's unique and fun!

It's either the strut mount and if not then most likely the endlink or bushings or both of it!!!

Normally rattling is from the swaybar area (bushings, endlinks) and the strut mounts make more of an clunk noise.

I had the same problem that was driving me crazy (annoying!!). I had the upper strut mount nut tightened with an impact wrench and it went away! I also sprayed some silicone grease in there to reduce friction.

Not as fancy as struts and mounts but verify that your car keys aren't rattling against the steering wheel cowling.

I had this same problem. Looked at everything including struts. Turned out it was the hood bouncing up and down. Check that out.
