3rd Generation Gauge Color Change For Gen 3

Hey guys,

I was wondering if there was a way to change the color of the gauges, both where the speedometer is and the instrument panel is (where you turn on your A/C and stuff, I think you call it the instrument panel, if not please let me know what it's called) and maybe below the shift knob area on automatics. I want to do this but with more blue and white in the center instrument panel area (NOTE: I don't want to do those blue neons in the driver and passenger seat):

I found this DIY (http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t88355.html) for a needle color change, but the guy already had a reverse glow gauge on. Would changing all the bulbs to my desired color yield the same results as his reverse glow gauges or is there something special about the reverse glow's? A link would be fine to a DIY or something or if anyone knows how to do it please write a DIY for us!

Thanks to all

buy Reverse Glow Gauges ... they come in white or black with red/blue lights

you can change your PRND2L LEDs out for blue ones in both the gauge cluster and by the shifter

The gauges in my car have a green film over them. If I were to replace the bulbs with yellow LEDs do you think they will come out blue?

yes, but probably not the blue that you desire

your gauges shouldnt have a green film on them though .... the LEDs should come with little green caps on them, however

If I were to put LEDs in place of the regular bulbs would everything work fine? I'm asking this because I've heard that when you put LEDs in your tail lights that they will flash very fast and not like normal and that your dash will show that you have a light out. Do you think a problem will occur with the gauges? Would it will make a difference if the LED itself had 1 LED or 2 LEDs or more?

I wouldn't really recommend changing any of the bulbs on the instrument panel. Most of them are soldered in anyways. Just buy the reverse glow gauges and install them, it's very easy to do.

Yeah I was thinking about that too. Where can you find the black reverse glow gauges? I saw them on ebay like 3 months ago but haven't seem them since. I don't really like the white glow's. The look kinda gay during the day I think.
