help with 2000 Camry

Hi everyone. I've got a 2000 Camry 4 cyl that I have several problems with. The car now has 136,000 miles but has been maintained very well. I am looking at some suggestions for some problems I'll list in their order of importance to me. I would really appreciate some help with these.

1) There is a clicking noise coming from my front driver side wheel. The clicking corresponds with my speed and does not change with or without brake pressure. It sounds like there is a rock or something stuck in the tire but this is not the case- I have check this out thoroughly.

2) Does my car have antilock brakes? If so they have never really worked. I slammed on my brakes the other day and my car just drags the rear passanger tire. If it matters I need to change the rear drum brakes this weekend. They are starting to make a lot of metal on metal noise so that might have something to do with my problem. But I never remember any antilock pedal feedback thoughout my 60,000 mile ownership.

3) The gas pedal keeps sticking. I lubricated the cables at the engine and that did not help things. My wife brought my car to a repair shop and they did something that did not work for long either. Any ideas?

4) My passanger side front door lock is not working. Is there a fuse that may have blown or do you think there might be a bad mechanism in the door?

Thanks for any and all your help on these items!!!

You will probably have to remove the passenger side door panel to determine if there is a problem between the door lock switch and the door lock actuator.
Are you saying that the passenger door lock does not operate by any means, either the master door lock (either side), or the passenger side manual lock switch? That there is no lock function, as well as no unlock function?
How does the passenger side manual outside key lock 'feel'? ... any resistance when turning the key? Could something sticky or viscous have been spilled into the lock mechanism ... through the window opening?

1. its possible that there is nail or somthing stuck in the tire. is the sound constant? does it do it only when turning? have the wheel barings ever been replaced?

2. depends on model. XLE came standard but i think it was an option on the LE. since u have drums im pretty sure u dont have ABS. u prolly need to replace the shoes in teh rear brakes.

3. check the cables to make sure there rnt any kinks. also inspect the pedal itself, the piviot points can sometimes stick.

4. chances are somthing is broke in the door. i believe all the door locks are on one circuit. if one fuse blows none of them work. ull have to remove the door pannel to take a look. toyota does use some plastic pieces as connectors and leavers in the system and i know at least on teh gen3, thoes can brake aver time.

hope this helps.

for the gas pedal sticking issue
try cleaning the throttle body
here is an excellent thread that I found regarding the topic:
How to: Cleaning Throttle Body -4 Cylinder Engines- With Pictures

I've had the issue for months, and then I decided to clean my throttle body. No more gas pedal sticking (I used regular sea foam and an old toothbrush). Give it a try.

thanks everyone.

To answer one of the questions above: All of my locks work from the keyless entry except the passanger front door so it probably is something mechanical in the door. It can only be locked by pressing the button on the door. I'll pull the door panel off and check things out.

THanks!

I have the same camry but in the le trim. I have abs but my other friend didn't so it was most likely an option on our models. You can check by opening the hood and looking for the abs box or you can turn the ignition to the first mode and seeing of the abs light comes up on your gauge cluster. Even if you have drum brakes you may still have abs.

ABS was available as an option for 4 cyl with rear drums on the LE and XLE trims but not on CE.
