rear speaker removal of speaker lid, camry 96

hi friends
i am putting up this question for the second time. i want to install sony 6x9" speakers , rear 2 speakers, replacing the factory ones which are blown off. i want to do it myself. when i opened my car back trunk i saw the speakers from the back down indide but there is no way i can unsrew or open them up. becuase i think the screws are up under the speaker top cover/ or lid .
only after i remove the lid i have access to the screws. ans then remove the speakers. how can i remove the speaker lid. if i pull them will they come off. or they have some button to be pulled. i think if i pull them upwards they will come off.
but am worried too . what if they dont and i try too much force and they break what do i do then.
please advise.
mine is a camry 96 4 door sedan

You have to remove the back seat, the side bolsters, some of the trim and then take the entire rear deck cover out to access the speakers. The grills that cover them DO NOT come off.

Do a search. There have been some DIYs on how to get to them. Chances are, once you get them out, you'll need an adapter to put new ones in because the factory 6X9s have a unique mounting bolt pattern. I used these...

Had to modify them slightly but it worked out well. Some people make their own out of MDF or whatever.

It's probably more proper for you to repost in the original thread you started... change erear speakers (manual required) .......than start a new thread.

I don't remember from which direction the OEM screws were facing, but I don't remember them being too hard to remove. What kind of tools are you using. How can you no know which way they're facing when your looking right at them? Show pics or something so we have some clue how to help you.

Adapters or some delicate work with a sawzall, whichever works best for you. Haha...
