USA 97 Camry PS PUMP

I replaced my leaking PS pump with a pump that I bought from a junkyard. I rebuilt the pump with a gasket kit, drained the fluid from the lines, removed the leaking pump and installed the rebuilt pump . My steering is worse then it was with the original leaking pump. I placed the Camry on jacks and tried to remove the air from the lines and my arms are tired. Has anybody any advice? Thank you!

There was a recent post on this subject ... getting air out of PS system... As I recall, you put the front end on jack stands, chock the back wheels, and then rotate the steering wheel slowly from one stop to the other.....

See link here .... post #15

Unhappy 97 Camry PS PUMP

dc _98_cam thanks for responding. My Camry was on jacks and I must have rotated the steering at least one hundred times. My best friend helped me. I guess I will pull out the pump and compare the original with the rebuilt. Very time consumming to say the least.
